Movie Night Out simplifies planning date night, family night, etc.

  • Version: 1.4
  • Size: 1.61MB
  • Category: Entertainment
  • Price: Free

This app will help you plan the perfect night out on the town. It offers the complete solution, not just movie times and reviews like cinema-niche apps Fandango or Movies by Flixster.

Start by choosing the appropriate date and time for your outing. Then, decide the order of events you’d like to plan. Your non-movie choices are:

  • coffee
  • flowers
  • live music
  • nightlife
  • restaurants
  • shopping
  • art galleries
  • none

Then, select the movie genre you’d like to see:

  • action
  • date night
  • emotional night
  • family
  • fright night
  • funny
  • guys night
  • indie
  • ladies night
  • opening night
  • uplifting
  • dramatic
  • family fun
  • girls night
  • new release

You can rearrange your evening however you like, whether you prefer an early matinée or a midnight new release. Then, click “Plan My Night.”

Results for movies will give you the ability to view details/reviews, map the movie theatre, and buy tickets directly from Fandango or other theatre circuit websites. Additionally, restaurant and venue suggestions will be accompanied by ratings and reviews provided by Citysearch. If any suggestion does not fit your fancy, scroll through similar options using the side arrows. Furthermore, you can refine what types of venues will be included in the search. For example, for nightlife, you can narrow down your preferences from a large list containing places like bars, comedy clubs, and pool halls.

Additionally, you can save details for the night and even share them with your friends/date using email, text message, or Twitter.

Pros:

  • Full solution for planning an entire evening
  • Valuable information/features provided by Citysearch and Fandango
  • Refinements and customization options allow personalization

Areas for improvement:

  • Google Navigation function for directions between locations
  • Saving plans shouldn’t require account

Conclusion: A clever way to find new hotspots and take the stress out of organizing an evening out!
