Send Real Postcards w/ the Postagram Android App

Postagram prints and mails postcards with any photo and personal message to anyone, anywhere in the world.

  • Version: 1.1
  • Size: 1.19MB (apps2SD enabled)
  • Category: Photography
  • Price: Free (postcards are $0.99)

Postagram refreshes the original postcard by allowing you to create and send one instantly from an Android app. The first step is to select a photo from your Android gallery, QuickPic gallery, or any other image stored on your Android device. Or, if you login to your Facebook account, you can select any of your tagged images or profile pictures. Additionally, you can click the camera button to instantly capture a picture and attach it to a new Postagram.

The second step is to write your 140-character message which will accompany the photo you’ve chosen. Plus, your name will appear at the top of the message alongside the avatar you choose (if you add one). Your avatar image can be added manually or set to your Facebook profile picture (once you’ve logged into your Facebook account). Including an avatar image of yourself adds a nice personal touch to your postcard.

Step three requires that you input the recipient’s address. You can even select multiple addresses for your postcard so that none of your friends or family feel left out.

And the last step is of course, paying. Each Postagram costs $0.99 which is actually a pretty incredible price considering it includes the photo paper, printing, and postage. However, the only payment option currently available is credit card. It’d be nice to see the implementation of PayPal, Google Checkout, or other simplified e-payment options.

Postcard specifications:

  • Printed on thick, glossy photo postcards at a resolution of 300dpi
  • $0.99 to anywhere in the world
  • 2-5 business days for delivery to the U.S. (longer for international)
  • 3x3in photo pops-out of the postcard

Pros:

  • Postcard specifications listed above
  • Supports various Android photo gallery apps
  • $0.99 price tag includes photo paper, printing, and postage
  • CC payment details are saved to expedite future Postagram purchases

Areas for improvement:

  • Ability to rotate images (in addition to cropping)
  • Previously entered addresses should be stored for future use
  • Add support for additional payment options, e.g. PayPal, Google Checkout
  • Option to purchase expedited shipping

Conclusion: The Postagram Android app is an easy, affordable way to stay connected with friends and family. Share a vacation photo, send a love note, or say happy birthday in a unique way!
