Google Translate for Animals, it’s the Cat’s Meow!

The latest and greatest app from Google Labs has just been released to the Android Market, Translate for Animals!  Thanks to @Warrior7885 for pointing this great app out to us!

This app recognizes and transcribes words and phrases that are common to an animal species.  Currently, the supported animals are:

  • Cats
  • Dogs
  • Birds
  • Rabbits
  • Guinea Pigs
  • Hamsters
  • Tortoises
  • Horses
  • Chickens
  • Sheep
  • Donkeys
  • Pigs
If you’re wondering how this is possible, Google spent quite a bit of time working closely with top language synthesis teams and animal cognitive linguistics, including senior fellows at the Bodleian Library in Oxford.  If you’re accustomed to the level of precision of other Google translation services, you won’t be disappointed here!
Give the app a try by scanning the QR code below!

Lastly, leave it up to Google to put so much time, effort, and professionalism into an April Fool’s Joke!  Even if you’re just a tad gullible you might find it easy to believe because of the Google name and the expertly written description.  Thanks to Google for keeping Android a fun-filled platform!
