Android App Update: Yelp 1.2 New Features

Android App Update: Yelp 1.2 New Features

Just as everyone suspected, the Yelp app that just recently arrived on the Android Market has been hit with its first update.  The initial version of Yelp lacked many of the interactive features that you would expect like adding photos, writing reviews, etc.  Fortunately for us Android users, Yelp has been updated to version 1.2.

The new features that have been added to Yelp include the ability to login or signup for a Yelp account.  Also, you can now take and upload your own pictures of a location as well as share the information/review of a place through Gmail, text message, Twitter, etc.  These features are a great addition to the Yelp app.

Most of all, this new update is a signal to us that Yelp is committed to improving their Android app so that it is as functional as the native website.  I wouldn’t be surprised to see another update in the very near future that adds the ability to write and upload your own reviews from your Android phone.  We’ll keep you updated.

If you haven’t already tried it out, here is the QR code to Yelp in the Android Market.
